FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Is physical therapy painful?

Pain is the way our body communicates abnormal conditions. Pain is generally categorized into good pain and bad pain. Pain from abnormal conditions is considered bad pain. The clinic’s treatments aim to address the root cause and enable patients to move freely without pain.

Is it possible to do self-exercises?

It is possible if the patient is not suffering from pain or abnormal physical conditions. However, the pain patients are experiencing results from physical movements. Therefore, therapist-controlled exercises and appropriate exercise plans designed based on the patient’s symptoms (frequency, intensity and repetitions, for example) will facilitate correct body movement. At the beginning, it is recommended to have a therapist to supervise the exercises, then the patient can do the exercises at home, with regular follow-up appointments.

Is it necessary to have a doctor’s referral to receive a treatment?

Patients may receive physical therapy treatments without a referral. However, if the patient’s symptoms are out of scope for physical therapy treatments, the clinic will recommend other suitable treatments.

Is medication part of the treatments?

Our treatments do not involve medication, but we provide exercise instructions for patients to do at home, as if it were medicine that will help patients to recover at a faster pace.

Is an X-Ray or MRI result required?

On average, 95% of the treatments do not require an X-ray or MRI result. In case the patient needs to receive an X-ray or MRI scan, the clinic will inform so. Patients may bring previous examination results as well.

Should I get a physical therapy or a surgery?

There are many cases where patients are able to fully recover from physical therapy alone, without the need for surgery. This depends on the symptoms and the duration. Surgery should remain the last option due to many risk factors associated.

Is the clinic’s therapist team certified?

All our therapists passed a physical therapy course and have a professional license issued by the Ministry of Public Health.

Are physical therapy treatments expensive?

Patients who have been suffering from pain for a long time may need continuous treatment. However, considering lower efficiency of medication treatment and high surgery cost (for certain symptoms), physical therapy treatment is still more economic in the long-term.

How many treatment sessions do I need?

The number of treatment sessions depends on many factors, including the level and the complication of pain, the patient’s age and lifestyle, among others. It is therefore quite difficult to determine the exact number of treatment sessions. The therapist can provide a rough number after the first post-treatment assessment.

How long does a session take?

A treatment session takes approximately 60-90 minutes, depending on the symptoms and the pain.

Is advance appointment necessary?

The clinic takes care of each patient individually and constantly receives booking. It is required to contact us in advance. Patients may call within the same day or schedule an appointment in advance at their convenience. Appointments may be schedules 1-2 days in advance.

Is there any charge if I cannot attend the scheduled appointment?

The clinic understands that every patient may need to attend important businesses. There is no charge if the patient is unable to come to the appointment. However, the clinic would like to request for collaboration that patients cancel the appointment at the earliest possible, or at least 24 hours before the appointment time. This is to allow other patients to schedule appointments during the cancelled slots.
